Founded in 1560, Solihull School is a coeducational, independent school located in Solihull, West Midlands. It is the oldest school in the town and educates approximately 1050 students aged 7 to 18.

Registration

Parents should apply their child for a Year 3 place by the end of November of the preceding year of entry. The registration form can be found on the school’s website with a non-refundable registration fee of £50. (Note: Registration form must be completed and returned to the school with the required identification.)

Open Days/Visits

Solihull School hosts open days/visits every school year during the month of June and September. These events give the parents the chance to take a tour and talk to the staff of the school. Also, it allows prospective pupils to attend a taster day by giving them first-hand experience of a normal day in the classroom.

Entrance Exams

The Solihull School 7 plus examination is in January with sit papers in English and Mathematics.

English has two sets of tests. The first English test focuses on students’ reading comprehension of a fiction text, which asks literal, deductive and inferential questions. The second English test focuses on creative writing, where students are given tasks to write a short story on a given title.

There will be only one written Mathematics test for 50 minutes and followed by ten minutes of mental arithmetic.
