Founded in 1906 as a Christian foundation, originally called Portland House, pupils wore distinctive uniforms of yellow and blue striped blazers, grey skirts and straw boaters. It is known by its current name since 1985, with an update of the uniform during the school’s centenary year in 2006.

The school encourages girls in volunteering and community service in collaboration with local primary schools with the opportunity to build science skills through the Science Superstars scheme.

The school works closely with a number of local nurseries as well, providing access to the school’s outdoor learning space and other facilities in the Junior Department that is located on the same site as the Senior school building.

The Senior school was renovated in 2010, and an award-winning courtyard garden, surrounded by six science laboratories, a languages computer suite, drama/dance studio, gym, library, art and design studio, food studies room and IT suites.

The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as athletics, art, cheerleading, choir, drama, football, health and fitness, Mandarin, orchestra, photography and many others.
