Overview
City of London School for Girls is a non-denominational, independent day school, for girls aged 7 to 18. The City of London School for Girls is owned by the City of London Corporation.
It aims to provide a stretching and challenging education for all girls, allowing them ‘to nurture into young women with a strong social conscience and a commitment to the common good.’ Academic excellence and discovery of new talents in its pupils are paramount. Girls are encouraged to try new things and the extra curricular timetable is a sight to behold.
Admissions Process for CLSG Eleven Plus (11+) for Year 7 entry
Around 70-75 girls are accepted to City of London School at 11+. Entrance assessment consists of two stages (exam and interview) that will be held in January, prior to entering the school in September of the same year.
Open Days
The school hosts open events throughout the year, giving parents and girls the opportunity to tour around the school, experience City life and ask any questions they may have. You will be able to meet and talk to current City girls who will guide you around the school and talk openly and honestly about all aspects of school life.
Bookings are not necessary for an Open Day visit. Please visit the school website for upcoming dates.
In addition, in June, they hold a ‘Taster Afternoon’ for approximately 60 girls in Year 5 who are at state primary schools and hoping to apply to City for Year 7 entry. The afternoons give the girls a chance to experience life in the City. This event is advertised on the school’s website (usually in April each year) with an online application form that must be completed if you like to attend. Places fill fast.
