Sessions combine timed written practice with direct technique work. Children are taught how to approach each question type — not just the correct answer, but how to show their reasoning and manage time across a paper. Errors are corrected directly. The group size means individual misconceptions are caught and addressed quickly.
Most 7+ assessments include Maths, English comprehension, creative writing and, at some schools, a short reasoning component. Papers are timed and marked on both accuracy and presentation. Requirements vary by school, and preparation that does not reflect those differences is less effective than preparation that does.
Schools at this level are looking for children who are accurate with number, answer comprehension questions precisely, write clearly in sentences, and approach unfamiliar problems willingly. Composure under timed conditions matters as much as knowledge.
